– an unprecedented, catastrophic event, which will require an EQUALLY historic relief response.
Dear Friends and students of the Trading Post In The Woods,
Many of you have been reaching out to us to see what our involvement in the Harvey disaster will be. We formed Trading Post In The Woods because of our response efforts through our non-profit called Caring Hearts, Inc. We, through Caring Hearts, Inc have responded to 18 major and countless minor disasters. We once again have been called up for service to help our fellowman. As we prepare to head out into some of the most dangerous areas after the storm we ask for your prayers and assistance.
We are in Phase 1 of the response.
Right now roads are not open, however, we are in the preparation stage for going in with our Meals-in-a-bag, water, GMAGs https://www.gofundme.com/emergency-power-for-harvey-victims , electrolytes, medical, and emergency relief supplies, into the flooded areas, the moment we can get our vehicles in.
We will be releasing information to keep you updated daily on our face book page at: https://www.facebook.com/tradingpostinthewoods/
To make a donation via our GoFundMe account please press on this link: https://www.gofundme.com/ts-harvey-relief-aid
Right now we need your help in raising the items needed for more than 1000+ meals-in-a-bag. Each bag includes:
1 jar peanut butter
1 jar of jelly or honey
Wrapped plastic utensils
Food grade plastic gloves
Pocket Bibles (When available)
1 Loaf of bread (This item we pick up fresh on our way into the disaster area and thus we need funds to purchase)
Other items we will need for our initial run is:
Cases of water
Items for: diarrhea, nausea, sinus problems, vitamin C, and multi-vitamins, etc.
double AA flashlights
ready mixed baby formula and baby food
(If you are a business, organization, or church who would like to help support our response efforts please know that 100% of all donations go into the relief efforts. All Trading Post In the woods & Caring Hearts, Inc members [Including all board members] are volunteers and no one receives a salary or compensation for their work. Caring Hearts, Inc is our 501 C3 nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible)
These are the only items we need right now, as relief agencies will respond in waves with different items at appropriate times. We need and ask that donations be focused solely on requested items especially those needed for the meals-in-a-bag.
If you live outside our area but would like to support our response efforts you can send a check or money order made out to:
